Words cannot fully express the disappointment I feel at the moment. Tonight was suppose to be one of the most fun traditions of the whole year. It was actually suppose to be after the all athlete banquet(For those who know what I’m talking about, you will understand, the rest I would just stop reading). The character of the team which separated us from every other team might be officially dead….

Story time for those who have graduated. The tradition which we should all know what I’m talking about was suppose to be after the athlete banquet but was not planned because apparently the cops knew……chances are this is bs first off. So certain people spread the word for no one to plan it then and it will be planned three days later. The planning that happened was sending a text out about 4 hours before to about 10% of the team with just a time and to spread the word. Usually when you set a time you should stick to the time. An hour later the other half of the people show up (after we had been waiting for over an hour). We ask why are you over an hour late. The response is oh we changed the time…….yet not a single txt was sent out saying that just txts saying oh we are on our way….wait for us. BTW the people who got the “tip” about the cops or the people who planned it decieded last minute to turn off their phones and go to a baseball party… The people who show up bring nothing and expect me to have enough for the whole team. News flash for everyone IM NOT ON THE TEAM ANYMORE. I’m not responsible for buying you everything and hosting everything. I end up having to organize everything because no one is willing to do it. Typical freshman stuff no one listens. In the end it was a disaster. More then 50% of the people who show up don’t run a single thing all the do is come and be loud and creep on girls.

What separated this team from every other team out there before was how much of a family it was and the traditions we had. The two typical responses are teams change get over it or its Saturday before finals. If the team is changing fine but its changing from a team to a bunch of individuals who only care about themselves and maybe their event group, That isn’t a true team. Running Jumping and Throwing with the same name on your jersey doesn’t make a team. This isn’t the fault of any freshman or sophomore this is clearly the fault of ANY upper-class men who isn’t a transfer. I am going to be harsh but 100% truthful. Non of you are underclassmen anymore. You are suppose to be leaders of the team. I hear everyone claim to be a leader when team caps are being picked and the politicization that goes on is crazy but yet once that is over not one of those so called leaders are willing to step up outside practice and be a leader. When you guys where underclassmen I know because I watched the upperclassmen take care of all you guys. They brought the team together and made it a family. The guys and girls who took care of me STILL take care of me and the people who did that for them do the same. It is a slap in the face to the alumni who took care of you and helped make this team special over the years for NO ONE to carry on the traditions and do the same. Maybe you guys missed the point but the upperclassmen did what they did because their upperclassmen did it for them and your suppose to do the same. I’m am sad that not one upperclassmen is willing to step up and be a true leader when the coaches aren’t looking. If your interest is somthing like going to another teams party so you can have sex or stuff like that which come before the team(school isn’t one of the things I’m talking about) maybe you shouldn’t be on the team, even if your good. I’d rather see a team where there is no bonderies between event groups who is more of a family but might not be as good then a bunch of individuals competing with the same name on their chest. A team will grow and get better together and make memories that last forever. A bunch of individuals will always fail. I know that the spirit and love which I am talking about still lives on in the alumni who experienced it I just hope future generation can say the same, but at this rate……..they wont be able to.
